Fortnite is revealing details surrounding its latest Creative Mayhem event. The latest iteration is being called “Love is in the Air,” and will see players compete across new Fortnite Creative maps in an effort to earn Valentine’s Day-themed cosmetics and possibly a cash prize. For players who may be unfamiliar, Fortnite’s Creative Mayhem LTM has players submitting their best scores or times after competing on a designated Creative map. Players must submit their results online, of which the best ones are selected to compete on a team under a Fortnite content creator to ultimately win a large cash prize.

Detailed in a post on the official Fortnite website, the “Love is in the Air” event is open to any and all players. This event is once again calling out all deathrun specialists to show their stuff, and submit their best map time on the Creative Mayhem website from February 7 at 9 am ET to February 14 at 9 am ET to enter. Players must first sign up on the designated website before recording their run-through, then choose a creator, upload their video to YouTube, and finally share the link and time on the sign-up site.

Simply signing up on Fortnite’s Creative Mayhem website will grant players the Love Reigns Emoticon, and those who play for a minimum of 30 minutes will be rewarded with the Mace of Hearts Pickaxe. Submitted videos will be reviewed February 15-22, with the first round of qualifiers taking place on February 26 and 27. The tournament will place the top performers with the Fortnite creator selected during sign-up, comprised of well-known streamers from around the world like Australia’s Loserfruit, Spain’s Grefg, and USA’s SparklesQT. The Global Finals are on March 12, with a grand total of $100,000 on the line. The Love is in the Air tournament isn’t the only major new thing recently added to the game. Last week was Fortnite’s v19.20 update patch, which added a number of significant pieces of content. The biggest addition is the introduction of the new Covert Cavern POI, which is home to a Mythic version of the Stinger SMG. The update also unvaults the Heavy Shotgun, although the fan-favorite weapon has received a complete overhaul. Update v19.20 also introduces Feathers, which can be used to unlock Haven’s masks.

With the latest Fortnite Creative Mayhem event being a deathrun-based tournament.

there are bound to be thousands upon thousands of entrants. With the competition so stiff, there’s bound to be plenty of players who won’t get to play with their favourite Fortnite celebrity. Fortunately there’s been plenty of new skins like Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, as well as The Rock’s The Foundation, so players can at least pretend they’re playing with (or as) a celebrity.
