A new non-fungible token (NFT) collection named “Space Time Memory” will be released by Lamborghini, the legendary supercar manufacturer, next month as part of the company’s push into the digital asset space.
NFTs for the Lamborghini collection were designed by Swiss artist Fabian Oefner, whose work “explores the borders between time, space, and reality,” according to a press statement.
“The project is built of two different elements—a physical artwork in the shape of the Lamborghini Space Key and a digital piece that has yet to be presented,” said the press release, as indicated above.

For this piece, I wanted to explore how digital and real worlds intertwine.” Digitally, the car and its components become something that was never there before. The carbon fibre element is a key to the digital art piece’s experience because it is both tactile and palpable. There is a shift from the physical to the digital in both circumstances.”
“Scanning the QR code Oefner engraved within the carbon fibre of the Space Key once it returned from space allows access to the NFT, blurring the borders between the real and the digital,” according to the news statement.
In Oefner’s NFT concept, a popular car from the manufacturer drifts through space before disintegrating into its component parts, according to a storey from The Verge. According to The Verge, Lamborghini’s NFT’s visual style contrasts sharply with the widely recognised cartoon images of the Bored Ape series.
Lamborghini plans to begin bidding on the first of its five NFTs in February. According to the article, the “precise time it took Apollo 11 to leave Earth and enter the moon’s orbit” is 75 hours and 50 minutes for each auction.
