Unexpectedly, a Spider-Man player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is swung into the Mirror Dimension.

Fans of Marvel’s Spider-Man have discovered a number of amusing bugs recently, but the most recent one is especially amusing for MCU fans. A new Marvel’s Spider-Man glitch is worth checking out if you’re curious about what the Mirror Dimension from Doctor Strange would look like in a game. This isn’t the first time Marvel’s Spider-Man players have found a bug related to Doctor Strange. Gamers noticed a glitch a few months ago that made it appear as if one of Doctor Strange’s orange portals was opening. The Mirror Dimension, which was last seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming, has also become instantly recognisable in recent years. In that film, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man visited the Mirror Dimension, and in a video posted by Redditor young k0be, Yuri Lowenthal gets the chance to do the same.

The video for Marvel’s Spider-Man shows a young k0be swinging beneath a New York City bridge. Jumping out of the water after dipping his or her toes between the bridge’s supports, the gamer shoots forward on the web. Their attempts to swing, however, result in them falling into a pool of water. In a trippy and memorable visual that is likely to be remembered for a long time, they swing around the city above their heads. The Mirror Dimension altered New York City in both the first Doctor Strange movie and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The skyscrapers shift to fill the sky, moving and changing around Doctor Strange in a similar fashion to what is seen in the clip. The comparison is a solid one, thanks to the player under New York. If there is ever a solo Doctor Strange game, perhaps a similar visual style will be used to give players a new perspective on New York. However, seeing the sky below the player and a city above them is a truly cool bug. The player tries to fall out of the sky near the end of the video, but the game detects that something is wrong. Consequently, they are wiped out, and respawned, allowing them to return to the regular open world. There is a good chance that, like other Marvel’s Spider-Man bugs, this one can be recreated by players if they so desire. The Doctor Strange-like bug got a lot of love from viewers, as evidenced by the 1,800 upvotes.

  • Because so many Marvel fans were talking about the trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, this glitch was discovered and shared at the perfect time. All eyes are on the Master of Mystic Arts at the moment, to varying degrees.
