Aiming her arm cannon, Metroid’s Samus Aran, in Metroid.

There are a couple projects that haven’t seen the light of day in a while that Nintendo has suddenly disclosed information about, including Kirby and the Forgotten Land. You may not know it, but Metroid Prime 4 is also in the works. As far back as 2017, Metroid Prime 4 was rumoured to be in production, however Nintendo revealed in 2019 that Retro Studios will be in charge of the game’s development. Fans of Metroid Prime will be pleased to hear that the original developer, Retro, has returned, although the lengthy delay is a disappointment. Retro Studios is still working on the game, despite the fact that Nintendo didn’t specifically mention it in its most recent Direct. Metroid Prime 4 hasn’t been cancelled, and the fact that the studio is trying to add more staff suggests that it won’t be. A recent modification to Retro Studios’ twitter handle gives fans hope that they will at least learn more about this title soon, even if it doesn’t release until 2022 as previously expected.

News about metroid prime 4.

Nintendo hasn’t talked about Metroid Prime 4 in public for years, but job opportunities at Retro Studios have provided some new information for enthusiasts. Retro Studios advertised for software developers to work on Metroid Prime 4 on Twitter in late January. As an added bonus, ArtStation members have seen banner advertising requesting submissions from artists in order to contribute on Retro Studios’ Metroid Prime 4 project. In late 2021, Retro Studios also began searching for a new lead producer. Retro Studios is looking for a wide range of positions, which suggests that the game is in need of a lot of attention. There will be more waiting to do, but Retro’s internal movement should be seen as a positive sign. Despite Nintendo’s silence, it is evident that Metroid Prime 4 has not been cancelled. On the contrary, it appears like Retro has been busy, and Metroid Prime 4 development may be gaining momentum as the development crew grows.

Although Metroid Prime 4 has yet to be released, there is renewed hope that a long-overdue update to the game will be released soon. Since Retro Studios isn’t very active on Twitter, it’s noteworthy that it recently posted Metroid Prime 4 art to its Twitter profile. Retro may be implying that Metroid Prime’s future is bright, and that fans should keep their fingers crossed for a glimpse of the game in the near future. Retro and Nintendo should have something to show fans this year after restarting Metroid Prime 4 production after several years. In spite of the game’s long absence, there is hope that Metroid Prime 4 may make a victorious return at some point in the near future. Metroid Prime 4 doesn’t have to worry about losing out on the Switch’s star status because Nintendo says the hybrid console’s existence is far from done. As a result of Metroid Dread’s enormous success, Metroid itself has seen a resurgence of popularity. Considering Retro Studios’ recent actions, it doesn’t appear that Metroid Prime 4 will be cancelled any time soon for Nintendo.
