According to the NFL, Roblox and the National Football League launched NFL Tycoon on Wednesday in an effort to increase their metaverse presence. Roblox will be the platform of choice for the game.
Fans will be able to create, play, and learn in their own NFL-centered universe in NFL Tycoon. NFL Tycoon Allows players to run their own franchises, build their own stadiums (with custom designs), put together a team and compete in a simulator.
The platform will host virtual live events in conjunction with major league events, beginning with Super Bowl LVI in February 2019. “Destruction House” will be the name of the first virtual live event, which will go live on Sunday. New and limited-edition virtual items based on the NFL, Super Bowl LVI, and the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams will be available for purchase.

The NFL’s senior vice president of consumer products, Joe Ruggiero, said, “We are beyond thrilled to partner with Roblox as we journey deeper into the metaverse and continue to learn the value of interactive shared experiences.” To be a part of this dynamic space where new experiences are constantly evolving over time with new experiences, we are excited to be a part of the league’s new frontier of fan engagement.
Additionally, Roblox’s football-themed games will be available at certain times of the year, and the company’s vice president for global brand partnerships, Christina Wootton, says she wants to “bring fans closer to some of the biggest moments in sports.”
